KIO Data Centers unveils thrilling expansion plans for 2024, empowering connectivity and growth across LATAM

KIO Data Centers expands presence with new Mega-Campus in Querétaro, Mexico

As we shared last year, KIO Data Centers is currently undergoing an exciting expansion phase. This year, we're poised to finish building our second Data Center in Querétaro, Mexico (KIO QRO2). This facility will be a key part of our three-center Megacampus in the state. "The construction is on track, and we're thrilled about the progress. It's a major leap forward for both us and our clients. We're growing stronger every day," says Santiago Suinaga, CEO of KIO Data Centers.

Enhanced connectivity and high availability await players in KIO's Querétaro Data Centers

KIO QRO2 will join a mega-campus consisting of three interconnected data centers, all located in El Marques Industrial Park in Querétaro. These centers are linked by fiber rings, offering enhanced connectivity and high availability for clients needing extra space for growth or new ventures across various sectors.

KIO Data Centers expands into Northern Mexico with Monterrey facility

KIO QRO2 and KIO QRO3 will build upon the interconnectivity ecosystem established by QRO1 over the past two decades. With a 12 MW capacity, KIO QRO2's offerings include "Traditional COLO" - large-capacity spaces for IT infrastructure, featuring three 1200 m2 Data Halls with ample power in the first phase. This setup enables KIO to cater to three key segments in need of data center services: retail, wholesale, and Hyperscale.

KIO MTY2: Bridging connectivity with U.S. markets in Monterrey

In addition, we're expanding into northern Mexico. We've successfully acquired a 14,000 m2 site in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, to build our second data center there, located in the Asia Pacific Park in Pesqueria. This project will initially feature two 1200 m2 Data Halls with enough energy to supply 2 MW of energy in its first phase, with a growth capacity of up to 8 MW, with plans to expand to eight halls in a later phase, maintaining our signature redundancy model.

"KIO MTY2 will offer robust connectivity with triple-route redundancy for carrier connections. Our focus is also on proximity to the North American market, attracting clients and sectors needing specific connectivity with U.S.-based companies," said Suinaga.

KIO Data Centers achieves success with operational KIO BOG1 in Colombia

Our expansion into Colombia has been a tremendous success. KIO BOG1 is now operational, offering 'power & space' services with a 5,000 m2 building, room for six computer halls over 2,000 m2, and 6 MW power capacity for colocation services. This Data Center features a high-availability design, certified at TIER III level by the Uptime Institute.

KIO BOG2: Doubling capacity and sustainability in Colombia's data center market

There's also room for a second Data Center, KIO BOG2, doubling our potential capacity to 12 MW. A key advantage of KIO BOG1 is the immediate availability of capacity for our customers. Additionally, the region's average temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius contributes to energy efficiency, complemented by low energy costs, enhancing our efficiency and sustainability edge.
